Player Eligibility:

In order to register, the following conditions must be met:

  • PLAYER AGE - only players born in the years shown in the table under "Registration Fees" are eligible to play. If the child is too young, skating lessons are offered at local arenas for young children.
  • ADDRESS - Verify that your address falls within the CMHA boundaries.

Once information has been provided and verified, a Hockey Canada profile will be created for the player. Parents/Guardians can then register their player using the online registration system once it opens.

Step 1:

Complete the 2026-2027 CMHA New Player - Hockey Canada Profile form

**NOTE: Completing the CMHA New Player - Hockey Canada Profile form does not mean a player is registered for the season. Parents/Guardians will need to register using the online portal.**

Step 2:

Scan or take a picture of the player's birth certificate or passport and a Proof of Residency and send along the CMHA New Player form. If this method does not work, you can send the files to registrar@cumberlandminorhockey.ca

Proof of Residency consists of one of the following:

  • Purchase Agreement (financials redacted) OR Lease Agreement (1 year minimum lease, no rental of a room in residence)
  • School registration or transfer document
  • Utility bill (ex. Hydro, Enbridge, Rogers)
  • Drivers' License

Step 3:

Once the New Player form has been submitted and proof of age and residency has been verified by the Registrar, you will receive an email stating that a Hockey Canada profile has been created for your player. The email will contain information on creating an account in the Hockey Canada Registry, linking your player to the account, and how to proceed with registration for the season.

Step 4:

Register the player via the CMHA Registration Portal and complete payment.

Step 5:

Complete or link the Shift Forward Parent Program online course to the player's profile before the first on-ice session by following the instructions received from the Registrar at Step 3.
